When Jerry Bailey and Lance Robinson of the Ocala, Fla.-based Gulf Coast Farms purchased Emptythetill, dam of recent Southwest Stakes (gr. III) winner Conveyance at auction in 2005, she seemed to fit right into their program due to her impressive conformation.

ÒShe was a really good-looking mare and had enough pedigree for what we were trying to do,Ó Robinson explained about the daughter of Holy Bull, who Gulf Coast bought for $125,000 at the Ocala BreedersÕ Sales Co.Õs October mixed sale. Consigned by Summerfield, agent, she was in foal to Songandaprayer.

After Emptythetill delivered the Songandaprayer colt, who was later named Yukon Bull, Bailey and Robinson decided to breed the mare back to Indian Charlie.

ÒWe try to mate type to type in horses we like, and we thought Indian Charlie was a horse that was going in the right direction,Ó said Robinson of the breeding that resulted in undefeated Conveyance, who also won the Jan. 16 San Rafael Stakes (gr. III) at Santa Anita.

Trained by Bob Baffert, Conveyance is owned by Zabeel Racing, an entity belonging to Sheikh Rashid, the eldest son of Sheikh Mohammed. Conveyance was purchased for $240,000 by Legends Racing at the 2008 Keeneland September yearling sale from Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent.

Legends Racing, an investment group started in 2009 by Olin Gentry and Thomas Gaines of Gaines-Gentry Thoroughbreds in partnership with investment banker Tripp Hardy, sold Conveyance to Zabeel privately following the coltÕs second start.

Emptythetill, whose second dam Silent Account (by Private Account) is a grade II winner and a full sister to grade I victor Secret Hello, is in foal to Midnight Lute. Gulf Coast is considering a mating with either Distorted Humor or Indian Charlie for 2011.

Indian Charlie is the sire of 47 stakes winners, including other 2010 added-money winner Indian Burn. Indian Charlie stands for $70,000 at Brereton JonesÕ Airdrie near Midway, Ky.ÑE.M.
