Informed scored the second added-money win of his career when he defeated Mast Track by a nose in the San Diego Handicap (gr. II) on Aug. 2 at Del Mar. Ridden by Tyler Baze, Informed covered 11Ú16 miles in 1:41.91. Favored Well Armed, racing for the first time since capturing the Dubai World Cup Sponsored by Emirates Airline (UAE-I) in March, finished last in the eight-horse field.

Owned by W.C. Racing,, and Russ Sarno, Informed has started seven times this year. The bay horseÕs efforts include a June 13 victory in the Californian Stakes (gr. II) at Hollywood Park and a runner-up finish, only a nose behind Cowboy Cal, in the Jan. 10 San Pasqual Handicap (gr. II) at Santa Anita Park.

Bred in Kentucky by Ernest C. Frohboese, Informed was consigned by Chesapeake Farm, agent, to the 2005 Keeneland September yearling sale, where Robert and Beverly Lewis purchased him for $500,000. Robert Lewis died in 2006 prior to the start of InformedÕs racing career. Informed ran for the Robert B. and Beverly J. Lewis Trust nine times before trainer Doug OÕNeill claimed him for $25,000 June 26, 2008, at Hollywood. Informed won a 11Ú16-mile race that day by 81Ú4 lengths.

AmerigoÕs Fancy (by Amerigo), the fourth dam of Informed, captured a division of the Escondido Handicap at Del Mar in 1966 and a division of the Santa Barbara Handicap at Santa Anita in 1968. She also won the 1967 Rancho Santa Fe Handicap at Del Mar. AmerigoÕs FancyÕs offspring included Princess Royal Stakes (Eng-III) winner Trillionaire (by Vaguely Noble) and Solar Current (by Little Current), who scored in LongacresÕ 1980 Spokane Handicap.

Ameridouble (by Nodouble), the third dam of Informed, didnÕt race, but she produced three added-money winners, including multiple graded stakes winner Triple Tipple (by Raise a Cup). AmeridoubleÕs other stakes winners were Pale Purple (by Verbatim) and Tapstress (by Desert Wine), the second dam of Informed.

Tiznow is the sire of Informed and 20 additional stakes winners. The stallionÕs other added-money winners this year are Well Armed, Tizaqueena (gr. IIT), Tizfiz (gr. IIT), Bullsbay, Colonel John, and Lady Chace. Tiznow stands as the property of a Taylor Made/WinStar venture at Bill Casner and Kenny TrouttÕs WinStar Farm near Versailles, Ky.
