The hot start to the Keeneland fall meet continued for Ken and Sarah Ramsey, as their homebred filly Holiday for Kitten held off Musical Romance by a nose to win the $200,000 Thoroughbred Club of America (gr. II) Oct. 8.
Outsider My Jen was there to pick up the pieces when favored Rapport gave way in the homestretch, edging Moontune Missy by a head at the wire in the $150,000 Gallant Bloom Handicap (gr. II) Sept. 25 at Belmont Park.
Sara Louise will try to avenge a narrow defeat in last year's Gallant Bloom Handicap (gr. II) but will have to do it in her season debut after being on the sidelines for more than nine months.
Rapport set blazing factions and still had something left in the tank for the stretch drive, as she rolled to a dominating 3 1/2-length victory in the $100,000 Victory Ride Stakes (gr. III)Aug. 28 at Saratoga.
Terra Di Sienna's Pica Slew caught pacesetter Rapport at the eighth-pole and cruised to a two-length win in the $150,000 Azalea Stakes (gr. III) July 10 at Calder Race Course.
