Dolphus C. Morrison, breeder and initial owner of 2009 Horse of the Year Rachel Alexandra, died Oct. 26 in Columbia, Mo. after a long illness.
Hall of Fame rider Calvin Borel, who retired in March, will return to the saddle Aug. 27 at Ellis Park in western Kentucky. The three-time Kentucky Derby (gr. I)-winning rider has 5,146 career wins.
