  • Action continues at the Keeneland November breeding stock sale.

    Hystericalady's Half-Sis, WinStar Shine

A soggy, grey Veteran's Day greeted buyers and sellers at Keeneland Tuesday, and the day's business at the breeding stock sale, while down, was actually a tad brighter than most during the 15-day auction.

  • Hystericalady, brought top price of $3 million.

Keeneland November Sale Slumps at Start

The opening session of the Keeneland November breeding stock sale generated some fireworks, but the results were a lot less spectacular than in 2007 when the gross revenue ($109,064,000) and the number of horses sold for $1 million or more apiece (28) established world Thoroughbred auction records for a single sale session. Also last year, Playful Act set a $10.5-million world mark for a broodmare or broodmare prospect, which since has been eclipsed by Better Than Honour's $14-million price.

  • Hystericalady will sell at Keeneland Nov. 3.

    Hystericalady Among Keeneland Prospects

Hystericalady, a grade I winner and an earner of $2,390,556, is scheduled to be offered (as Hip No. 53) on the opening day of the Keeneland November breeding stock sale Nov. 3. She comes into the auction after a fifth-place finish in the Oct. 24 Breeders' Cup Ladies Classic (gr. I), which was won by the undefeated Zenyatta.

  • Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies winner Stardom Bound is scheduled to sell at Fasig-Tipton Nov. 2. <br><a target="blank" href="http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/photo-store?ref=http%3A%2F%2Fpictopia.com%2Fperl%2Fgal%3Fprovider_id%3D368%26ptp_photo_id%3D6471289%0D%0A%26ref%3Dstory">Order This Photo</a>

BC Sale Horses: How They Did

A number of female runners that competed in the Breeders' Cup World Championships at Santa Anita Park are entered in the upcoming Fasig-Tipton November select mixed and Keeneland November breeding stock sales in Lexington. By far the most successful was Stardom Bound, who scored in the Bessemer Trust Juvenile Fillies (gr. I) as the favorite. She is Hip No. 65 in the Fasig-Tipton auction, which is scheduled for Nov. 2.
