Keeneland's January horses of all ages sale opened its four-day run Jan. 12 with mixed results, as gross fell but average gained and median remained level in a market widely described as "fair" by consignors.

Some horses to watch at the Jan. 12 opening session of Keeneland's January mixed sale.
Keeneland's January sale, featuring champion Blind Luck, is expected to continue the stability and positive momentum seen in the 2014 November breeding stock market.
Fasig-Tipton's Florida Sale at Palm Meadows Training Center in Boynton Beach, Fla., featured plenty of highlights throughout the one-day auction including double-digit gains in average and median.
An A.P. Indy filly became the first seven-figure purchase at the March 25 Fasig-Tipton Florida sale of selected 2-year-olds in training when she was acquired by Green Hills Farm for $1.1 million.
Spendthrift Farm stallion Malibu Moon was represented by two of the seven co-bullet workers who sped an eighth of a mile in 10 seconds flat during Fasig-Tipton's under tack show at Palm Meadows Training Center March 22.
Favored Tribal Belle led from gate to wire to take the $149,399 Ontario Fashion Stakes by 3 1/4 lengths at Woodbine Nov. 1.
Tribal Belle goes after her first stakes score in the $150,000 Seaway Stakes (Can-III) Sept. 5 at Woodbine.
Sweet August Moon took advantage of a hot pace to run down the odds-on pacesetter High Resolve, scoring her first graded stakes win in the $100,000 Las Flores Handicap (gr. III) on April 5 at Santa Anita.
The first four finishers in last month's Honest Lady Stakes will all have the unenviable task of trying to catch the speedy filly High Resolve in the $100,000 Las Flores Handicap (gr. III) at Santa Anita April 5.
Two-time grade I winner Country Star looks to rebound from a disappointing sophomore campaign when she makes her 4-year-old debut in the $150,000 El Encino Stakes (gr. II) Jan. 18 at Santa Anita. A full field of a dozen 4-year-old fillies are entered in the 1 1/16-mile event on Pro-Ride.
The champion filly Indian Blessing won her fifth grade I race when she inherited the lead from an injured Indyanne in the homestretch and went on to victory in the $250,000 La Brea Stakes (gr. I) at Santa Anita Dec. 27.
Champion filly Indian Blessing, whose flashy three-race winning streak was ended by Ventura in the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint at Santa Anita two months ago, returns to the track for the $250,000 La Brea Stakes (gr. I) Dec. 27.

Charles Cono's Foxy Danseur will hold a significant experience edge over her four rivals in Hollywood Park's $100,000 Sharp Cat Stakes for 2-year-old fillies Nov. 17. The 1 1/16-mile Sharp Cat is Hollywood's major local prep race for the Dec. 15 Hollywood Starlet (gr. I).
Trainer John Sadler thought Del Mar Debutante (gr. I) favorite Tasha's Miracle was going to be special the first time he saw her. He tried to buy her during Barrett's 2-year-olds in training sale earlier this year, but her reserve, in the $300,000 range, proved too expensive for his budget.
Team Valor, which privately purchased a 50% interest in Tasha's Miracle after the 2-year-old filly's smart maiden score at Hollywood Park, got an immediate return on its investment when the daughter of Harlan's Holiday overwhelmed the field in the $150,000 Sorrento Stakes (gr. III) at Del Mar Aug. 8.
Led by world record-setter One Hot Wish, three-time winner Carbella, and graded stakes-placed American County, a field of nine is expected for Wednesday's $150,000 Sorrento Stakes (gr. III) for 2-year-old fillies going 6 1/2 furlongs on the Del Mar Polytrack.
