Matt's Broken Vow, a romping winner of the Manitoba Derby in his last start, has been installed as the 9-5 choice in the $300,000 Canadian Derby (Can-III) at Northlands Park in Edmonton, Alberta, Aug. 23.
Trainer Josie Carroll will send out the likely favorite in Woodbine's $150,000 Victoria Park Stakes when Matt's Broken Vow takes on five other 3-year-olds going 1 1/8 miles June 8.
Matt's Broken Vow made his initial try at two turns a successful one, as the 3-year-old colt outran a pair of rivals in the stretch to win the $151,300 Marine Stakes (Can-III) May 17 at Woodbine.
