Derby Kitten capped a big day for Ken and Sarah Ramsey, as the homebred 3-year-old got up in the late stages to win the $200,000 Coolmore Lexington Stakes (gr. III) April 23 on a stormy day at Keeneland.
Silver Medallion is the lone Coolmore Lexington (gr. III) entrant with a chance to make the Kentucky Derby; Casper's Touch would point toward the Preakness (gr. I) with a good effort in the April 23 race.
The 40th running of the nine-furlong race will be held March 26 on Polytrack. Formerly known as the Lane's End Stakes, the Vinery Racing Spiral Stakes was downgraded from grade II to grade III this year.
