At age 6, Nicole H will try to become the first mare to post three consecutive victories in the $75,000 Interborough Handicap. She faces seven others in the six-furlong event at Aqueduct Racetrack on New Year's Day.
Closing weekend at Belmont Park is highlighted by a pair of grade III races, with both the $150,000 Bold Ruler Handicap and the $150,000 Turnback the Alarm Handicap for fillies and mares set for Oct. 27.
While Ruthenia and Laughing are co-highweights in the $150,000 Athenia Stakes at Belmont Park, they do not figure to hook up until late in the 1 1/16-mile turf race for females because of their different running styles.
