Veterinarian Gustavo Vautier looks at prospective yearlings in the back ring at the Keeneland September yearling sale.

Agents and prospective buyers regularly call upon the assistance of experienced veterinarians to help assess yearlings. 

Dr. Vautier travels to Kentucky annually to attend the Keeneland yearling sales and to inspect yearlings for Bloodstock agents Nick Sallusto and Hanzly Albina.

Dr. Vautier spent 20 years working at Calder Race Course and Hialeah Park, before returning to Argentina. He currently works at racetracks in Isidro, Palermo, and La Plata (all near Buenos Aires).

An experienced set of eyes scan the horse's conformation and structure, examining each horse with precision, and noting any faults or concerns.
