Bob Baffert, trainer of leading Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) candidates American Pharoah and Dortmund, had the right answer when asked him which colt is better.

American Pharoah bobbled at the break but never looked back, galloping gate-to-wire to win the $750,000 Rebel Stakes (gr. II) by 6 1/4 lengths in his season debut March 14 at Oaklawn Park.
Trainer Keith Desormeaux is unsure Texas Red can get ready in time for the $1 million Santa Anita Derby (gr. I) April 4, but that isn't going to stop him from trying.
