Union Rags lead covering sire by average, 'Pharoah' top yearling sire
From a paucity of foals compared to stallions whose sons are all over the place, Dixie Union has emerged as a fairly nifty sire of sires and might become as favorably viewed as a broodmare sire of stallions.
Greg Goodman's Mt. Brilliant Farm bought Sky Girl, a daughter of Sky Mesa and half sister to Longines Kentucky Oaks (G1) winner Abel Tasman. The 7-year-old mare is in foal to Union Rags.
Lane's End stallion Candy Ride (ARG), the sire of 2017 Breeders' Cup Classic (G1) winner Gun Runner, will stand for $80,000 in 2018, it was announced Nov. 6.
Fees still pending for Candy Ride, Quality Road, and Union Rags.
