Two Kentucky-breds -- 2-year-old male colt Shamardal and 2-year-old filly Divine Proportions -- received Cartier awards for their respective divisions

    Westerner pushed clear more than a furlong from home and cruised to a three-length victory under jockey Olivier Peslier for his second straight marathon Prix de Cadran (Fr-I) win at Longchamp Sunday.

  • Fabre's Martaline Captures Maurice de Nieuil

    Martaline gave trainer Andre Fabre his seventh win in the Prix Maurice de Nieuil (Fr-II) at Maisons-Laffitte on Saturday. Martaline took the lead with jockey Christophe Soumillion about two furlongs from home and finishing well to defeat Westerner by three-quarters of a length.
