A share in Distorted Humor that brought $500,000 was the highlight of the Stallion Access Champagne Sale of selected seasons and shares that was held Friday evening in Fasig-Tipton's Humphrey S. Finney Sales Pavilion in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.

Seeking the Gold Tops Stallion Access

A 2003 no-guarantee season to Seeking the Gold brought the top price of $195,000 to headline the Stallion Access auction at Fasig-Tipton Kentucky's Newtown Paddocks on Nov. 8.

Stallion Access Sale Averages $29,197

After a year's hiatus, Stallion Access' Champagne Sale of Selected Seasons and Shares returned the evening of Aug. 9. Held at Fasig-Tipton's Humphrey S. Finney pavilion in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., the sale saw 33 of the 44 no-guarantee seasons for 2003 sell for $963,500. In addition, two stallion shares sold for $182,000. The auction, a bellwether sale for next year's stud fees, averaged $29,197.

Unbridled's Song Season Tops Stallion Access Sale

A 2002 no-guarantee nomination to Unbridled's Song was sold for $70,000 to top Monday's sale of seasons and shares conducted by Stallion Access Inc. Second-highest price of $55,000 was paid for a Theatrical season. A Danzig season was bought back at $220,000.

Storm Cat Season Sells For $500,000

A single no-guarantee season to leading sire Storm Cat brought $500,000 to top the Stallion Access auction at Fasig-Tipton Kentucky's Newtown Paddocks Nov. 10. The top price was $100,000 above the scheduled fee of $400,000 next year for the stallion, who stands at W.T. Young's Overbrook Farm near Lexington.
