Coming into the $750,000 Beverly D. (gr. IT), all the talk was about Citronnade and Lady of Venice, two talented American fillies who were undefeated this year. The veteran campaigners Dreadnaught - winner the 2004 edition of Calder's $200,000 W.L. McKnight Handicap (gr. IIT) - and Revved Up, second by a neck in last year's running, return to the scene Saturday in one of four graded stakes worth a total $600,000.

On a Rough Day, Pletcher Breaks Stakes Mark

Even on a bad day, trainer Todd Pletcher broke a record. Shut out with 17 runners in the Breeders' Cup at Churchill Downs, Pletcher set the single-season mark for graded stakes wins when Safari Queen captured the $150,000 Long Island Handicap (gr. IIT) for fillies and mares on the turf Saturday at Aqueduct.
