The Maryland Racing Commission has unanimously approved the sale of Rosecroft Raceway to Georgia K. Angelos, wife of Peter Angelos, majority owner of the Baltimore Orioles and a Thoroughbred owner and breeder.

Rosecroft Raceway, a harness track in Maryland, will be sold, possibly to Frank Stronach's Magna Entertainment. Magna has recently purchased a majority interest in the Maryland Jockey Club, which operates Pimlico and Laurel Thoroughbred tracks.
The Maryland Racing Commission approved regulations Wednesday that permit racetrack operators in the state to develop a system that would enable residents to bet on races over the telephone.
