With the $6-million Dubai World Cup (UAE-I) an annual highlight of the early-season racing calendar, HRTV and TVG will offer coverage of Nad Al Sheba racecourse in the United Arab Emirates March 25, beginning at 9 a.m. EDT. In addition, ABC will provide on-site coverage of the World Cup and UAE Derby (UAE-II) for the first time.
Emirates Airline, in conjunction with the National Thoroughbred Racing Association, announced June 20 the "Emirates Airline Racing Around the World Sweepstakes."
TVG will present live in-studio coverage of the 10th annual Dubai World Cup (UAE-I) from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. ET, from Nad Al Sheba Racecourse. HRTV will also air live the Dubai World Cup beginning at 8:30 am ET.
TVG will televise the ninth annual Dubai World Cup (UAE-I) during a three hour presentation that will run from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. ET Saturday, March 27.
Godolphin Racing's Breeders' Cup Classic runner-up Sakhee will make his 2002 debut and Dubai's Nad Al Sheba Racecourse in late February as a prep for the March 23, $6-million Dubai World Cup.
Skoozi, a 6-year-old bred in New Zealand, overtook China Visit in deep stretch to post a nose victory over China Visit in the first round of the Maktoum Challenge (UAE-III) Thursday at Nad Al Sheba Racecourse. Royal Tryst, a U.S.-bred son of Kingmambo, finished third.
Next Knight, who topped last year's Pearls of Dubai sale, was upset by a Kentucky-bred son of Mister Baileys in a mile grass race at Nad al Sheba Racecourse Sunday.
Dubai Champion Stakes (Eng-I) winner Nayef cantered under lights and before the crowd Thursday night at Nad Al Sheba Racecourse in Dubai as the colt's connections wanted to familiarize him with the conditions on March 23, 2002, when the Dubai World Cup will be renewed at the track.
