Prominent U.S. and Canadian owner-breeder Eugene Melnyk announced June 11 his retirement from the sport of horse racing, with his racing and breeding stock to be dispersed July 14 at Fasig-Tipton Kentucky.
Marchfield, 9-year old son of A.P. Indy, will stand in South Africa. He is to leave Park Stud in Ontario, where he has been since his retirement in 2011, for Moutonshoek Stud joining stallion Mambo in Seattle.

III) by 9 1/2 lengths Saturday at Aqueduct.
The only graded stakes winner in Saturday's $500,000 Jim Dandy (gr. II), budding Flower Alley outclassed his 3-year-old foes at Saratoga Race Course to establish himself as one of the favorites for the upcoming Travers (gr. I).
