    The trip from Charles Town Aug. 6 proved lucrative for Coleswood Farm, which swept both $100,000 West Virginia-bred stakes at Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack & Resort on its West Virginia Derby (gr. II) program.

  • In the Fairway, a 4yo WV-bred Posse colt bred and owned by Jeff and Susan Runco's Coleswood Farm, won the Confusion Say Stakes at Charles Town April 19. Runco trains the colt, who has earned more than $300,000 in 16 starts, 15 of them at Charles Town.

    The West Virginia legislature ended a short special session May 21 and apparently left more than $14 million in gaming revenue to purses and breed development programs for horse and dog racing intact for fiscal year 2015.
