    Diane J. Nelson, a multiple graded stakes-winning rider, who made her mark in the saddle and in front of the camera, died this month and was memorialized in a service in her native New York July 10. She was 54.

    For owner Rick Porter, a victory in the $750,000 Delaware Handicap (G1) would mean a lot as the big race at his local track. On July 15 he will send out two-time champion Songbird in an effort to land the $750,000 race for fillies and mares.
