    Criticism Coasts to Comfy Very One Win

    Apparently, English-bred Criticism has found the footing on American soil to her liking. The Darley homebred mare, who made her North American debut this past fall, wrapped up her second consecutive graded stakes when taking the $100,000 The Very One Stakes (gr. IIIT) in front-running fashion Feb. 22 at Gulfstream Park.

    Jockey Musarro Tallies First Victory

    Apprentice jockey Joe Musarro, 17, earned his first career win Feb. 22 when he guided Heavenly Surprise to a 5 1/2-length score in Turfway Park's seventh race, a claiming event for fillies and mares 3-years-old and up.

    The torch was passed from dirt champions Kane Hekili and Vermilion when Success Brocken edged Casino Drive by a neck in record time while winning the $2.2 million February Stakes (Jpn-I) before 70,000 at Tokyo Race Course Feb. 22.
