    A weanling colt by Tapit was purchased by agent Ben Glass for $250,000 to top the Nov. 10 session of the Keeneland November breeding stock sale. Overall, the session saw a continuation of the trend throughout the sale in which numbers declined in all major statistical categories.

  • Major Handle Increase on New Mexico Cup

    Final figures have revealed that Zia Park had a significant 70% overall handle increase for the stakes-filled New Mexico Cup program Nov. 9.

  • Tubby's Klubhouse Fundraiser a Success

    In spite of a struggling economy, the generosity of Thoroughbred industry members and others was not lacking at the third annual Tubby's Klubhouse fundraiser Nov. 7. Hosted by Ro Parra's Millennium Farms near Lexington, the event raised more than $220,000 via items sold at a live auction, individual donations, and a matching grant from Parra's Family Foundation.

    Ground has been officially broken for the state-of-the-art James M. Moran, Jr., Critical Care Center at the University of Pennsylvania's New Bolton Center. The center is named in memory of Elizabeth Moran's son, James, who died this past April.

  • Declines Continue at Keeneland

    Walklikeanegyptian, a 5-year-old Danehill mare, topped the Nov. 9 session of the Keeneland November breeding stock sale when she sold to Arch Bloodstock for $220,000.

  • Tattersalls Catalog Has 2,728 Lots

    Tattersalls has cataloged 2,728 lots for its December mixed sale, which will be held Nov. 24 through Dec. 4 in England. There are 237 yearlings listed for the auction's first day, 1,261 foals spread over five days, and 1,230 lots of breeding stock listed for the sale's final four days.

  • CTHS Winter Mixed Sale Has 187 Horses

    The Ontario division of the Canadian Thoroughbred Horse Society (CTHS) has cataloged 187 horses for its winter mixed sale, which will be held Nov. 29 at the Woodbine in Toronto. The auction will start at 2 p.m. (EST).
