    Electrocutionist Wins Close Juddmonte International

    In a blanket finish that could have been won by any one of five horses in the final furlong, the Italian-trained Electrocutionist pulled off a thrilling victory in Tuesday's Juddmonte International Stakes (Eng-I) at York to secure a first prize of £266,800 ($482,043).

    Fog City Stable's Roman Ruler, winner of the Haskell Invitational Handicap (gr. I), breezed a half-mile in a bullet :45 4/5 at Saratoga Tuesday in preparation for the $1-million Travers Stakes (gr. I) Aug. 27.

    Jockey Danny Sorenson suffered a fractured left collarbone as the result of a mishap in Monday's first race at Del Mar. Sorenson's mount, longshot Perfect Judgment, stumbled badly while racing in the clear along the rail in midstretch and fell, unseating Sorenson.
