    Central Kentucky stallion Wolf Power, a Horse of the Year in his native South Africa, died Nov. 15 in his stall at Graham J. Beck's Gainesway Farm near Lexington

  • Thunderello Sustained Career-Threatening Injuries

    Thunderello, who was pulled up in the Frank J. De Francis Memorial Dash (gr. I) on Saturday at Laurel Park, broke the splint bone and chipped the sesamoid bone in his left foreleg, said his trainer, Scott Lake. Lake said X-rays taken the day after the race confirmed the injuries.

  • Sandown Classic to Stark South's Son Hail

    Fayette Park, the New Zealand home of Prized, scored a triumph with another North American stallion in Stark South. This Dixieland Band son is the sire of Hail, winner of the $500,000 (Australian funds) Sandown Classic (Aust-II) on Nov 16.
