    Aaron and Marie Jones' Riboletta won her fourth consecutive race Saturday at Del Mar, reeling in pacesetter Gourmet Girl before pulling away to win the $300,000 Clement L. Hirsch Handicap (gr. II).

    Scatter the Gold Denied in Breeders' Stakes

    Scatter the Gold's bid to follow in his mother's footsteps by sweeping the Canadian Triple Crown fell a little over three lengths short Saturday as the Sam-Son Farm's homebred finished third in the $500,000 Breeders' Stakes at Woodbine. The Todd Pletcher-trained Lodge Hill earned the win, completing the 1 1/2-mile turf race, run over firm turf, in 2:28.97.

  • Megans Bluff Best in Arlington Oaks

    Megans Bluff tracked the early leaders in third place before unleashing a three-wide rally under jockey Mark Guidry to win the $125,000 Arlington Oaks (gr. III) by eight lengths Saturday at Arlington International.

  • Stormy Pick Wins Sorority in Slop

    Raymond Dweck's Stormy Pick dueled early with the previously unbeaten With Ability before running away to a 1 3/4-length victory over Zonk in the $150,000 Sorority Stakes (gr. III) Saturday at Monmouth Park. Under Jose Ferrer, Stormy Pick completed the six furlongs in 1:10.96 over a sloppy track.

    Lemon Drop Kid to Stand at Lane's End Farm

    William S. Farish's Lane's End Farm and Mrs. Jeanne Vance announced Friday that Lemon Drop Kid, the 1999 Belmont Stakes (gr. I) winner who won last weekend's Whitney Handicap, will go to the Versailles, Ky. farm to stand at stud when he retires following this year's Breeders' Cup Classic (gr. I) on Nov. 4. The 4-year-old colt will be syndicated with the stud fee to be determined later.

  • John's Call, Jean-Luc Samyn up, wins the Gr. I Sword Dancer at Saratoga.

    John's Call Romps in Sword Dancer

    Trillium Stable's John's Call drew off through the stretch to an impressive 9 1/4-length victory in the $500,000 Sword Dancer Invitational Handicap (gr. IT) Saturday at Saratoga.
