Millionaire and multiple grade I winner Richard's Kid    (Lemon Drop Kid  Tough Broad, by Broad Brush) has been retired to Magali Farms in Santa Ynez, Calif., where he will stand the 2014 season for $4,500.

The sturdy 8-year-old veteran of 47 races won three grade I races, including the prestigious Pacific Classic Stakes at Del Mar in 2009 and 2010, while earning $2,482,259.

"I am very excited to have the opportunity to stand Richard's Kid," said Tom Hudson of Magali Farms in a press release. "I loved this horse as a racehorse. He is a brand in himself. He made 47 starts in his career, which shows great heart and soundness. He ran and won at multiple distances ranging from 1 to 1 1/2 miles. This coupled with his pedigree and conformation makes him a great choice for California breeders."

Maryland-bred Horse of the Year in 2009 and 2010, Richard's Kid set a track record for 1 1/2 miles on Polytrack at Del Mar that still stands (2:29.22). The dark bay was bred in by Fitzhugh and retires with a 12-3-12 record overall.

Richard's Kid joins stallions Atticus, Coil  , Decarchy  , Good Journey  , Mr. Broad Blade, and Roi Charmant at Magali.
