Hip 44, a weanling filly by Galileo, sold for $475,000 on Nov. 5.

A Galileo filly is the highest-priced weanling early in the opening session of the Keeneland November breeding stock sale Tuesday, Nov. 5 in Lexington after she was purchased by Dell Ridge for $475,000.

Consigned by VanMeter Sales, agent, the February-born filly was bred in Ireland by Smythson. Out of the Storm Cat mare Song to Remember, the weanling filly is a half sister to grade I winner Magnificent Song, grade II-placed Great Barrier Reef, and grade III-placed Park Avenue.

Dell Ridge also went to $250,000 earlier in the day to land a Medaglia d'Oro   weanling filly out of R Heat Lightning.

"We bought her to race," said Des Ryan, who manages Dell Ridge for the family of the late Frank Justice. "We bought another filly, out of R Heat Lightning, as well, and we're just going to race them and add them to our broodmare band."
