Ramsey Farm in Kentucky said Nov. 3 the stud fee for Kitten's Joy  , who tops the general sire list with $10,159,891 in progeny earnings, will double to $100,000 for 2014.

The fee is for live foal stands and nurses. Ramsey Farm, which stood the stallion for $50,000 this year, will offer a 5% discount if the stud fee is paid by Nov. 1 of the year the mare is bred.

"We are excited about Kitten's Joy's performance to date," owner Ken Ramsey said in a release. "I am a breeder myself, and I think that the 2014 fee of $100,000 is quite fair considering Kitten's Joy's proven ability to throw world-class runners. With tremendous support from the world's leading breeders, we believe the future looks even brighter."

In August, three Ramsey homebred runners by Kitten's Joy won grade I turf stakes on the same day: Real Solution (Arlington Million), Big Blue Kitten (Sword Dancer Handicap), and Admiral Kitten (Secretariat Stakes).

Kitten's Joy, a foal of 2001, is by El Prado out of the Lear Fan mare Kitten's First. He raced for Ken and Sarah Ramsey and entered stud in 2006.
