A handsome gray colt by Medaglia d'Oro   lit up the Fasig-Tipton auction ring Oct. 23 when he was purchased by Mark Casse for $440,000 on the third and last day of the fall yearling sale.

Produced from the Storm Bird mare Listen Now and a half brother to graded stakes winner Here Now and to stakes winner Indy Bird, the colt was consigned by Nardelli Sales as Hip 924. The colt was bred by Kim Nardelli, Rodney Nardelli, Susan Bunning, and M. Spirito.

Rodney Nardelli said the purchase price exceeded expectations of the consignor.

"I think it's been a very strong market," he said. "There are buyers here for a whole range, from top to bottom, and it's good to bring a good horse here and be appreciated."
