Select Sales Agency has named Amy Bunt as director of sales and client relations, the Lexington-based consignor announced Oct. 15.

Bunt joins Select Sales after working as the membership and education coordinator for the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association (TOBA) and as the sales coordinator for VanMeter Sales. A graduate of Virginia Tech and the Kentucky Equine Management Internship (KEMI), Bunt has international sales experience in England, Ireland, and Australia.

Bunt will be responsible for organizing sales consignments and communicating with the company's clients and buyers. Additionally she will assist with recruiting horses for sales and developing new clients.

"We are very excited to have Amy on board here at Select Sales," said Andrew Cary, the company's general manager. "She is a rising star in the industry and people like her are extremely hard to find. She will be an important part of our operation both at the sales and also during the recruiting season.

"She is great with people, well-organized, loves racing and sales, and understands the time commitment it takes to be a success in the horse business. We have come a long way since we began operations in 2009 and adding Amy will help take us to the next level," he said.

"I am so thrilled to be offered the opportunity to work with an up and coming and nationally recognized sales company," said Bunt. "In just a few years, Select Sales has become an industry leader. I could not be more delighted to work with Carrie, Andrew, and Jay. They have done an outstanding job building the agency from the ground up and I really look forward to working with such an accomplished team."
