Bear's Kid to Stand at Colebrook Farms

Bear's Kid, a grade II-winning son of Lemon Drop Kid  , will stand at Colebrook Farms in Uxbridge, Ontario, Canada, beginning in 2014, the farm announced Oct. 9.

Bear's Kid previously stood at T. C. Westmeath Stud Farm in Ontario.

His stud fee has been set at $2,500 CAN.

Bear's Kid's first foals are 2-year-olds of 2013 and include Woodbine maiden winner Asserting Bear.

Bear's Kid won Woodbine's 2005 Summer Stakes (Can-IIT) at 2 and was stakes-placed at 4. He retired with a record of 3-3-2 from 15 starts and earnings of $249,599.

Bred in Kentucky by Adena Springs, Bear's Kid is out of 1998 Gazelle Handicap (gr. I) winner Tap to Music, by Pleasant Tap. Tap to Music is a half sister to sire Northern Afleet  .
