Keeneland secured its sixth Simulcast Award for production excellence Oct. 8 at the International Simulcast Conference in Lexington.

Keeneland director of broadcast services G. D. Hieronymous accepted the crystal trophy award for Keeneland, which was a co-winner last year with Woodbine.

A panel of judges selects the simulcast award winner based on excellence in the presentation of a racetrack's live race product to its simulcast outlets. This year the judges' cited Keeneland's use of high-definition video and multiple cameras covering the paddock, post parade, and races--specifically providing multiple views of horses.

Eligibility for the award is open to all pari-mutuel breeds. Simulcast entries were judged on technical merit, quality and timeliness of racing and wagering information dissemination, as well as overall appeal.

Entries for the award were no more than 30 minutes in length and contain one complete race presentation, including pre-race features and graphics, the race itself, and any post-race replays and/or wrap-ups.

The simulcast conference is co-sponsored by the Thoroughbred Racing Associations and Harness Tracks of America in conjunction with the American Greyhound Track Operators Association.
