A half sister to champion and top sire Speightstown   was purchased by Torrealba Holdings for $1,750,000 to light up the Keeneland sales ring early during the September yearling sale's third session Sept. 11.

Sired by Tiznow  , the filly is out of Canadian champion 2-year-old filly Silken Cat (by Storm Cat) and was consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent for breeders Aaron U. and Marie Jones.

Goncalo Torrealba, who was seated next to Three Chimneys Farm's Robert Clay during the bidding, signed the sale receipt on behalf his family's Torrealba Holdings.

The Borges Torrealba family, which operates TNT Stud in Brazil, last year entered into a partnership with Three Chimneys Farm.

"She comes from a stallion family, and that's what we're trying to build at Three Chimneys and Borges Torrealba," Goncalo Torrealba said. "We liked her."
