Gulf Coast Equine, owned and operated by Ray Paul and his daughter Anna Paul, has relocated this month to their newly acquired property, the former Judice Farm near Sunset, La., where they will stand two stallions: Smooth Air   and Bob's Proud Moment.
 
Smooth Air, by Smooth JazzAir France, by French Deputy, is a multiple stakes winning stallion with victories in the Gulfstream Park Handicap (gr. II), the Ohio Derby (gr. II), and the Hutcheson Stakes (gr. II), as well as the Needles Stakes on turf at Calder Casino & Race Course to his credit. The 8-year-old stallion owned by Mount Joy Stables was also twice grade I placed in the Shadwell Metropolitan Handicap and Florida Derby. He retired to stud for the 2011 season boasting a record of 6-5-3 from 17 starts and earnings of $1,117,200.
 
Smooth Air's first yearling went through the sales ring this month at the Ocala Breeders' Sales Company. The filly, out of unraced Forest Wildcat mare Miso Pretty, was purchased by S and D for $50,000.
 
Smooth Air will stand for 2014 for a fee of $2,500.
 
Bob's Proud Moment, a stakes-winning son of Proud and True--Promisted Moment, by Honest Moment, is a winner on both dirt and turf, including a victory in the Miami Mile Breeders' Cup Handicap (gr. IIIT). Multiple times stakes placed, he counts among those finishes runner-up placings in the W. L. McKnight Handicap (gr. IIT), the Calder Derby (gr. IIIT), and the Tropical Turf Handicap (gr. IIT).
 
Bob's Proud Moment's fee for the 2014 season will be $1,000.
