Star Cat   celebrated his first winner when Purrpurrpurr posted a victory in her second start Aug. 23 in the fourth race, a maiden special weight at Indiana Downs (VIDEO).
 
Leandro Goncalves rode the 2-year-old filly, chasing the pacesetter through the turn before driving ahead of nine other juvenile fillies to hit the wire with 3 3/4 lengths to spare. Purrpurrpurr's final time for the 5 1/2-furlong dirt test was 1:07.09.
 
Purrpurrpurr was bred out of the Iroquois Park mare Ultimate Princess by Breakaway Farm in Indiana. Wayne Mogge trains the filly, which he owns in partnership with Romar LLC.
 
Star Cat was bred by Darley in Kentucky. An unraced son of legendary sire Storm Cat, Star Cat is out of 2004 champion 3-year-old filly and 2005 champion older mare Ashado, by Saint Ballado.
 
Star Cat stands at Breakaway Farm near Dillsboro, Ind. His fee for the 2013 breeding season was $2,500.
