South American Stud Duty Off for Scat Daddy

Representatives from Ashford Stud near Versailles, Ky., confirmed July 29 that third-crop sire Scat Daddy   will not stand the 2013 season in the Southern Hemisphere as initially planned.

The 9-year-old son of Johannesburg was scheduled for stud duty at Haras La Quebrada in Argentina this fall, but after some discomfort while travelling he has been returned to the farm in Kentucky, where he will remain.

Scat Daddy has sired 17 stakes winners including grade I winner Lady of Shamrock and Arkansas Derby (gr. I) runner-up Frac Daddy. His 2013 stud fee at Ashford was $30,000.
