First Winner for Freshman Sire Singing Saint

Kaptain Kujo became the first winner for freshman sire Singing Saint   when he won a 4 1/2-furlong maiden special weight race for Iowa-bred 2-year-olds June 15 at Prairie Meadows (VIDEO).

Kaptain Kujo was making his career debut for owner-breeder James R. Leech and trainer Jon Arnett. The dark bay or brown colt now has earnings of $20,767.

Kaptain Kujo is the fourth winner from five starters produced from the Slew City Slew mare Kotchi.

A 9-year-old son of El Prado, Singing Saint stands at Adena Springs Canada for a 2013 fee of $2,500 (Canadian funds).
