Left Bank, More Than Ready Prep for King’s Bishop
Todd Pletcher trainees Left Bank and More Than Ready worked four furlongs together at Saratoga Sunday morning as they continued to prepare for Saturday’s King’s Bishop Stakes (gr. I). Over the Oklahoma training track, the pair completed the distance in :50.“More Than Ready and Left Bank were both well in hand and on cruise control,” said Pletcher. “I don’t specifically match them up, but they are two horses on the same schedule and they needed the same type of work.”As for strategy in the seven-furlong King’s Bishop, Pletcher said, “I think Left Bank will probably be on the lead or very close to it. He’s in sharp form and he’s been running at seven-eighths. More Than Ready, backing up from a mile and an eighth, probably won’t be quite as sharp. I don’t think he’ll be too far back, but I don’t think he’ll be in front of Left Bank.”Jerry Bailey will be aboard Left Bank. Pat Day will guide More Than Ready.Others expected for the $200,000 King’s Bishop are Bevo, Personal First, Valiant Halory, Millencolin, and Wake at Noon. Listed as possible is Don’t Tell the Kids.
