The showdown between Horse of the Year Wise Dan and multiple grade I winner on turf Point of Entry   will have to wait.

At about 3:20 p.m. EDT on May 4, Churchill Downs officials announced that Phipps Stable homebred Point of Entry, who is owned in partnership with Stronach Stables, had been scratched from the $500,000 Woodford Reserve Turf Classic Stakes (gr. IT).

The son of Dynaformer was scheduled to face Wise Dan in the 1 1/8-mile turf race at Churchill Downs. Point of Entry had been listed at 7-5 on the morning line.

Wise Dan, listed at 6-5 on the morning line, now figures to be an overwhelming favorite.

No reason was immediately given for the scratch. Rain has been falling at Churchill where the turf is listed as yielding, but Point of Entry has a win and a third in two previous starts on an off-turf.
