Aubby K, making her first start since she was up the track in the Test Stakes (gr. I) more than six months ago, became a grade II winner when she put away nine rivals in the $150,000 Inside Information Stakes (gr. II) (VIDEO) March 17 at Gulfstream Park.

James C. Spence's 4-year-old Kentucky homebred by Street Sense   out of the graded stakes winner Lilly Capote was ridden to victory by Hall of Fame jockey Edgar Prado for trainer Ralph Nicks.

Aubby K, sent off at odds of 6-1, dominated the seven-furlong test of older fillies and mares by three lengths in a time of 1:23.83 over a fast track.

Spectacular Sky, one of four entrants from trainer Marty Wolfson, saved the second spot after setting the pace, finishing three-quarters of a length in front of the oncoming Emma's Encore.

Disappointing was the 6-5 favorite Golden Mystery, also from the Wolfson barn, who finished last as the 121-pound topweight. Last month's Hurricane Bertie (gr. III) winner broke with the leaders but failed to respond for Javier Castellano after settling into a stalking position mid-pack.

Aubby K was well spotted in second just to the outside of Spectacular Sky and Joel Rosario, who took the field along through opening splits of :22.59 and :45.47 while pressed on a half-length lead. Aubby K cruised up to challenge rounding the turn for Prado and took over. She led by 1 1/2 lengths at the eighth pole after completing six furlongs in 1:10.20, and continued to lengthen her edge to the wire under Prado's urging.

Spectacular Sky could not match the winner but held on gamely for second as Emma's Encore got into gear late and finished willingly with Joe Rocco Jr. aboard.

Third in the Acorn Stakes (gr. I) at Belmont Park last May, Aubby K earned her first win since taking a first-level allowance event at Gulfstream nearly one year ago. She is now 2-for-2 over the track. In her prior start in the Test Aug. 25 at Saratoga Race Course, Aubby K was never a factor while racing wide on the turn and finished eighth.

Aubby K won for the third time in seven stars while boosting her earnings to $213,463. The dark bay or brown filly is the only blacktype winner from her dam, who produced five winners from six foals. Aubby K is a half sister to graded stakes-placed Flying Pegasus, who ran second in both the 2008 Futurity (gr. II) at Belmont Park and the 2009 Risen Star Stakes (gr. III) at Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots.

The winner carried 117 pounds and paid $15, $7, and $5. She topped an $86.60 exacta. Spectacular Sky returned $7.60 and $5.40. Emma's Encore paid $7.80.

Nakano finished fourth, followed by Catch a Thief, Burban, Ice Cream Silence, Prize Informant, Starship Truffles, and Golden Mystery.
