Woodford Stallions at Stonewall Farm Ocala near Ocala, Fla., has hired Doug Phalin as general manager, along with his wife, Laurie, as new farm manager, the operation announced Jan. 4.

Together, they managed Summer Place Farm near Lexington for six years, and prior to that oversaw operations at Francis "Skip" McDonnell's Cimarron Farm near Ocala. The couple, who met while working at Charlotte Weber's Live Oak Stud, has been out of the industry in recent years.

"Their vast experience will be a huge asset not only to the farm, but for breeders as well," said Marc Haisfield, managing member of Woodford Stallions at Stonewall Farm Ocala. "Their extensive hands-on experience and proven leadership will play a pivotal role in navigating the operation's future."

The farm has also added Lisa Simoff as director of bloodstock services and assistant director of marketing, Judy Little as office manager, and Michael Compton as director of marketing and media relations.
