Bootsy Collins, a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, will perform New Year's Eve at Turfway Park as he headlines the northern Kentucky track's annual end-of-year bash.

According to a Turfway Park release, the Dec. 31 "Bootsy Collins New Year's Eve Funk Bash" benefits the Bootsy Collins Foundation, which offers opportunities for the underserved population to gain access to music education and quality of life initiatives.

The show at Turfway Park will be the first public performance in the Greater Cincinnati area in 25 years for Collins, who has ranked on the Billboard charts 30 times and earned two gold records. He won a Grammy award for Best Music Video in 2001 for his work on Fatboy Slim's "Weapon of Choice" featured the dancing talent of Academy Award winner Christopher Walken.

Collins is credited for music and/or lyrics on 145 albums and 14 soundtracks that ranked on the Billboard 200. Also, 79 records that credit Collins for music and/or lyrics, not including his own or those with Parliament/Funkadelic, have gone gold or platinum. In 2011, Collins' album "Tha Funk Capital of the World" ranked on the Billboard R&B Albums chart.

Live Thoroughbred racing begins at 3 p.m. on New Year's Eve and "The Bootsy Collins New Year's Eve Funk Bash" begins at 5:30 p.m. and runs through 1:45 a.m. Jan. 1, 2013.
