Trainer Todd Pletcher went to $750,000 Sept. 13 to acquire an attractive son of Giant's Causeway   from the Four Star Sales consignment as the top-priced offering during the early portion of the Keeneland September yearling sale's fourth session.

Pletcher said he made the purchase on behalf of a group he has been representing at the marathon auction. Consigned as Hip No. 807, the colt bred in Kentucky by the Good Vibes Syndicate was produced from the winning Unbridled's Song mare Good Vibes.

Good Vibes, who last sold for $32,000 to Kitty Stable from the Denali Stud consignment to the 2004 Keeneland January sale, is the dam of Irish stakes winner Warning Flag (by War Front  ), who is group I-placed in Hong Kong.

The second-highest price during the first two hours of the Sept. 13 session was the $400,000 bid of Ed Savant, represented by Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert, for an Unusual Heat colt from the consignment of Catherine Parke's Valkyre Stud.

Consigned as Hip No. 772, the California-bred colt is a half brother to grade I winner Cost of Freedom. Bred by Harris Farms, the colt was produced from the Moscow Ballet mare Freedom Dance, the winner of nine of 17 career starts who earned $136,922.

During the Sept. 12 session, a Giant's Causeway colt consigned by Parke lit up the sales ring when it was purchased by agent Demi O'Byrne for $1,550,000.
