Graded Winner Chelokee Sires First Winner

Lady Kee became the first winner by Chelokee when she scored by 5 1/2 lengths in a maiden special weight race at Prairie Meadows July 8 (VIDEO).

A homebred for William L. Hobbs, Lady Kee ran the 4 1/2 furlongs in :52.71.

An Iowa-bred, Lady Kee is the third winner from three named foals of racing age out of the multiple stakes-winning Lytrump mare Fantango Lady.

Chelokee  (Cherokee RunDixie Ghost, by Silver Ghost) won two stakes including the Northern Dancer Stakes (gr. III). He stood his first season at Tom Simon's Vinery near Lexington. He currently stands at the University of Arizona Horse Center near Tucson, Ariz. His 2012 fee was $2,000.
