Grade II winner J Be K came through with his first winner when his 2-year-old daughter Baby J won a maiden special weight race at Belmont Park June 28 in her first start. Owned by Juvenal Diaz, Baby J captured the 5 1/2-furlong race by a half-length in 1:04.08 (VIDEO).
Bred in Kentucky by Mrs. O. M. Patrick, Baby J is the third winner from three starters out of the winning Rubiano mare Lavender Baby, whose offspring include stakes winner and grade I stakes-placed Laureate Conductor and stakes-placed Que Posse.
J Be K (Silver Deputy—Major Wager, by Valid Wager) formerly stood at Richard Hessee's Trophy Club Training Center near Royal, Ark. He has been relocated to Haras Santa Ana in Argentina.
