Daddy Long Legs, winner of the UAE Derby (UAE-II) in his only start this year, had his final piece of work at Ballydoyle, Sunday, April 29, and will be flown to Kentucky on Tuesday, May 1.

The son of Scat Daddy   – Dreamy Maiden, by Meadowlake, has already run at Churchill Downs, where he finished 12th in the Grey Goose Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (gr. I) after a bad start.

Daddy Long Legs just did a routine canter on Sunday morning, everything went well and he’s in good form,” trainer Aidan O’Brien said. “He’s a very straightforward horse, and we’re hoping he runs well on Saturday.”

O’Brien is hoping Daddy Long Legs can better the fifth-place finish of Master of Hounds in last year’s Derby, in which he was beaten only five lengths.

Daddy Long Legs is owned by Sue Magnier, Michael Tabor, and Derrick Smith, and was bred in Kentucky by Woodford Thoroughbreds.

O'Brien is expected to remain in Europe May 5 to saddle the favorite, Camelot, in the Two Thousand Guineas (Eng-I).
