Shotgun Gulch, a grade I winner who was retired from racing following an injury in February, has been purchased privately by Rick Porter of Fox Hill Farm from breeder/owner/trainer C.R. Trout.

Porter, who owns 2011 Horse of the Year Havre de Grace, has booked 5-year-old Shotgun Gulch to leading third-crop sire Bernardini  , who stands at Sheikh Mohammed's Darley near Lexington.

Shotgun Gulch (Thunder Gulch—Rosieville, by Boston Harbor) scored her major win in the 2011 Vinery Madison Stakes (gr. I) at Keeneland. She won four other stakes and placed in four stakes including the La Brea (gr. I) and the Presque Isle Downs Masters (gr. II). She was retired with 13 top three finishes from 21 starts and earnings of $528,976
