Erhaab, Sheikh Hamdan’s homebred 1994 Ever Ready Epsom Derby (Eng-I) winner, will stand in 2012 at Batsford Stud near Gloucestershire, England, according to the Racing Post.

Erhaab, who was a two-time English champion the year of his Derby score, entered stud in Japan and later stood a season at Sheikh Hamdan’s Shadwell Farm near Lexington before ending up in England early last decade. Erhaab has sired eight stakes horses and the earners of more than $29 million. In 2009 his son Sitting Tennant won the John Smith’s Champion Standard Open National Hunt Flat.

Erhaab, who is by Chief's Crown out of the Riverman mare Histoire, defeated King's Theatre and Colonel Collins in the Epsom Derby.
