Six-time grade I winner Blind Luck turned in a seven-furlong breeze Sept. 21 at Hollywood Park, a solid tune-up for her next race Oct. 1. She covered the distance in 1:26 1/5.

Co-owner and trainer Jerry Hollendorfer said that next race would likely be the $250,000 Lady’s Secret (gr. I) at Santa Anita Park. The 4-year-old daughter of Pollard's Vision   was also nominated to the $350,000 Beldame Stakes (gr. I) at Belmont Park on the same day, but from a logistical standpoint the Lady’s Secret makes more sense, he said.

“This way we don’t have to send her on a plane cross country and go back again,” Hollendorfer said Wednesday morning. “We want a prep race for the (Breeders’ Cup) Ladies' Classic (gr. I), and this makes the most sense.”

While Blind Luck’s rival Havre de Grace will likely use the Beldame as a prep for the Breeders’ Cup Classic (gr. I) against males, Hollendorfer said there is no way his filly will run in that race.

“I’m not running her in the Classic,” he said. “I don’t believe in that. If others want to do it, God bless them. If we win the Ladies' Classic, that’s plenty good for us.”
