ESPN’s coverage of the 2010 Breeders’ Cup Classic (gr. I) from Churchill Downs is one of six nominees for a Sports Emmy Award in the live sports special category.

The Breeders’ Cup World Championships, held Nov. 5-6 at Churchill Downs, featured undefeated Zenyatta’s stunning upset to Blame   in the Classic in the last race for each runner.

This is the second year in a row that ESPN’s coverage of the Breeders’ Cup has been nominated in the category. The 2009 nomination was for the entire coverage of the Breeders' Cup World Championships. The Breeders’ Cup is the only horse racing-related event to receive a nomination.

Other nominees for outstanding live sports special include 2010 FIFA World Cup, ABC: Final Match - Spain vs Netherlands; 2010 Tour de France, Versus; Golf on CBS: The Masters; NBA Finals on ABC; and The Ryder Cup, NBC/USA.

The 32nd Annual Sports Emmy Awards will be held May 2 at the Frederick P. Rose Hall Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City.
